So, to the fun bits, we think we have put together a cracking panel of guests, so lets’ introduce them.
Giants’ head coach Luke Robinson, his first such event as head coach, “Robbo” has been our guest on many occasions during his long association with Huddersfield, as player, Academy coach and as assistant coach, now, he’s the main man and ready to face the questions.
Jas Singh Athwal, a man of many titles! A Giants’ director, community trust chairman, member of the all parliamentary rugby league group and also chair of the Kala Sangam South Asian dance organisation, he’s as straight-up, forthright and honest as they come!
Tom Burgess, England international signed by the Giants for 2025 ending his log association with South Sydney Rabbitohs where he made almost 250 appearances and became that clubs’ record international appearance maker, winning the NRL grand final with Souths in 2014.
And finally, Dave Woods, for many, he’s the modern ‘voice of rugby league’ having been the BBC’s main commentator and rugby league correspondent for many years, in 2009, Dave commentated on his first RL challenge cup final, taking over from the legendary Ray French, the significance of that final is that it was Huddersfield’s first visit to Wembley in 47 years, unfortunately, Dave couldn’t describe a Giants victory and we are still waiting for our first cup win since 1953!
The evening kicks off at 7.30 pm and will be hosted by Daz Eastwood, as well as the main event, we will also be hosting a half time raffle, with various prizes including:
Meal vouchers
Hair & beauty salon vouchers
Emley AFC VIP ticket
Directors box tickets
Bottles of alcohol
Match tickets for Laund Hill games
And more.
We will also be auctioning a signed, bespoke bottle of Huddersfield Giants gin courtesy of Driftwood Gin.
All our guests will be available for photos, signings etc but please be patient and respectful if they need to leave and you haven’t had a chance to speak to them
Deborah will be opening the Kitson Table kitchen from 6.30 for delicious home cooked food, so no need to worry about rushing home for tea and the bars will be open for the evening.
Please note: We ask that you please don’t enter until 7.00pm as our hard working team of volunteers need to set the room up, any early arrivals are welcome to use the downstairs bar until the doors open at approximately 7.00pm and we ask that you please arrive and take your seats on time so we can start at 7.30.
Running order (Subject to change) times are approximates, we are usually pretty fluid!
