This event is one of our biggest of the year as the Huddersfield Giants players/coaches and officials take part in a Twenty20 cricket match against each other.

Surrounding the cricket match are a variety of stalls, rides and games to entertain the whole family including inflatables, face painting, rides, ice cream, hot food, games, sweets, coffee and many more, the event is always hugely popular with Giants fans and locals who just want to enjoy the day out

The Huddersfield Giants 1st team and hopefully Women’s Super League squads will be in attendance and when not playing are always happy to pose for a selfie or have a chat.

We rely on our hard working, trusted committee members and volunteers to put this event on but there are simply not enough of us, this is where you can help us, we are looking for volunteers who are happy to give up a minimum of 1 hour to help us out, volunteers can do more if they wish but we won’t expect you to.

We have various roles available on the day, these include:

Assisting traders in setting up – To be on hand should any of our stall holders require assistance setting up their stalls/bringing stock from their vehicles etc. From 10.30am

Manning one of our 2 entry gates – Collecting money via cash or card payments and attaching admittance wrist bands (This role requires 2 people so would be ideal for family or friends to do together). From 11.45am

Car park attendant – Making sure cars are parked sensibly in the public area and directing cars to the parking position. From 11.30am

Player liason – Supervising an area where the Giants players are available for people to take pics and get autographs of them, making sure people wait their turn and advising players when their allocated time slot is over etc. From 12.30pm

HGSA Marquee – Working alongside our fellow volunteers in our marquee, this can involve selling donated shirts, operating our popular kids ‘lolly game’ or selling Golden Gamble tickets. From 12.00pm

General stewards/Litter pickers – To assist people to find where they need to be, pont them in the right direction, answer any queries, emptying litter bins around the venue, to assist other committee/volunteers as and when required. From 12.00pm

Clean up – To assist in taking down the marquee, folding of chairs, moving tables, general cleaning up of the site. From approx 5pm

In exchange for your time we will offer you:
Free admission to the event – Volunteers are welcome to stay for the duration of the event after their role is complete or are free to leave.
Free Refreshments when on duty.
Free Golden Gamble raffle ticket.

All volunteers must wear a Hi-Vis vest when on duty to inform the attendees of your availability to be approached.
