Our annual Huddersfield Giants Twenty20 cricket family fun day take place, once again within the impressive Honley Cricket Club ground on Sunday August 25th at 12.00pm.
This event has long been a popular family day out for Huddersfield Giants fans, but more importantly, for everyone looking for a good day out with the family.
Run and jointly organised by the Huddersfield Giants Supporters’ Association (HGSA), along with Huddersfield Giants RLFC and Honley CC, the fun day takes place around a Twenty20 cricket game organised by the Giants’ commercial department and sees a squad of Giants players, coaches and staff take on a team of sponsors and partners.
The day is a great way for fans to meet, greet and spend time with the Giants Super League squad and hopefully this year, members of the Giants womens Super League squad will be on hand for pictures, signings etc.
The cricket gets underway at 1pm but the fun day starts at 12, hot food will be provided by the wonderful Burger-Burger from Honley, there will also be coffee, sweets, Ice cream and fudge/cake stalls too, the pavilion bar will also be open all day and there is also potential for a small pop up bar outside (weather allowing).
The HGSA marquee will once again be the centre of attention with plenty of old shirts and clothing for sale for as little as £5, it will also be the central point for information, lost children and property and also the hub for the whole day, we can also sign up and renew memberships so come along and meet us and find out what we do.
For entertainment, there are inflatable bumper cars, a bouncy castle/inflatable slides, face painting, toy stall as well as plenty of games and attractions to keep the whole family happy.
Giants’ mascot Big G will also be present again, entertaining the family and posing for pictures and
We will also be once again welcoming local small businesses selling and promoting everything from candles, crafts, bathing products and pet treats.
Representatives from Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) will be along too to raise awareness, but vitally, funds to fight a terrible disease, The Royal Air Force Association (RAFA) and community healthcare equipment suppliers Medequip will also be on hand too.
One of the most popular attractions last year was the appearance of West Yorkshire Police with a couple of vehicles, we will once again be including an emergency services vehicle on site with information and advice.
And like the last 2 years, hopefully the weather stays kind and everyone can enjoy another super Sunday day out in the sunshine at Honley.
